Who is John Nehra?

John joined NEA in 1989 and became a General Partner of NEA in 1993 and became a Special Partner in October 2000. He focuses on a wide range of high-technology companies with an emphasis on healthcare services, information systems and medical devices. Current board memberships include Acclarent, Apnex, CVRx, Davita Corporation, Denali, Evalve Corporation, Exploramed III, NC3, NeoTract, Prospex Medical, TargetRx, and Vibrynt. His prior board memberships include among others, Bridge Medical (acquired by Amerisource Bergen), Celeris Corporation (assets sold), EndoMatrix (acquired by C.R. Bard), Integrated Telecom (acquired by PMC Sierra), IRIDEX Corporation, Optical Sensors, Primax Recoveries, Proxima Therapeutics (acquired by CYTEC Corporation) , Surgical Health (acquired by HealthSouth), TELOGY Networks(acquired by Texas Instruments), TransVascular (acquired by Medtronic) and Vivra (acquired by Gambro ab). Prior to joining NEA in 1989, John was a Managing Director of Alex. Brown Sons with primary responsibility for developing the firm's healthcare research, investment banking and capital markets businesses. John also serves since 1989 as the Managing General Partner of Catalyst Ventures. John is also Chairman of the Baltimore School for the Arts. He received his BA from the University of Michigan.
