Who was John Peter Wakefield?

John Peter "Johnny" Wakefield was an English racing car driver.

He debuted in a British Alta, next year in a Maserati 6CM at Gran Premio di Firenze, 10th place, ran a British ERA, and became the second to own a Maserati 4CL, in which he won Grand Prix of Naples, French GP at Picardie and Grand Prix de l´Albigeois, being second at Rheims, and third at Prix de Berne.

He joined the Fleet Air Arm and died in a flying accident.
