Who is Jon Briggs?

Jonathan "Jon" Briggs is an English TV and radio presenter. He is best known for his voiceover work. In 2007 he became the voice for text-to-speech software, which in 2011 included the British version of Siri, the personal assistant application for the Apple iPhone. His voice recordings for Siri were made 4 to 5 years before the iPhone 4S was released; he worked with a company called ScanSoft which was later acquired by Nuance Communications, which supplied voices to Apple for iOS and Mac OS X Lion. Jon's voice is renamed "Daniel" for these purposes.

Other voiceover credits include appearing as the voiceover statistician in over 1800 episodes of the BBC TV quiz show The Weakest Link, station voice of BBC Radio 2, continuity announcer for Channel 4 television. Jon Briggs also provided the narration for the start of the drum and bass song "Blood Sugar" by Pendulum.

Jon Briggs' Radio credits include the breakfast show "Oxford AM" for BBC Radio Oxford, the breakfast show "Morning Edition" from launch for BBC Radio 5, "Nightride" for BBC Radio 2 and "The Weekend Wireless Show " for LBC — London's oldest commercial station —.
