Who is Jorge Alvial?

Jorge Alvial is an Chilean football manager and international scout for Chelsea FC. In 2006, he was the coach of the USL Puerto Rico Islanders. However, following the 2006 season he left the team to be Chief Scout of the Americas for Chelsea FC, and was replaced by Toribio Rojas. In Puerto Rico Jorge was the mastermind behind the squad that took the Islanders to its first post season.

On January 11, 2008, he joined the FC Dallas Coaching team from Chelsea FC, but he resigned in May of the same year. Chelsea FC has re-hired Alvial to continue his position as Chief Scout for the Americas.

He has three sons named Jorge, Javier, and Greyson, and one daughter, Isabel.

Alvial has been credited for scouting top players as Humberto Suazo, Franco Di Santo, Rogelio Funes Mori and Ramiro Funes Mori, Mark González, Jhon Pírez, Brek Shea, Diego Fagundez, Cristian Cuevas, Neymar at 14yrs old, Pastore at 16yrs old, Higuain at 17 rys, Falcao at 17yrs old.
