Who was Joseph Cornelius Waddy?

Joseph Cornelius Waddy was a United States federal judge.

Born in Louisa County, Virginia, Waddy received an A.B. from Lincoln University, Pennsylvania in 1935 and an LL.B. from Howard University School of Law in 1938. He was in private practice in Washington, D.C. from 1939 to 1962. He was an Associate judge, Domestic Relations Bar, Municipal Court of the District of Columbia from 1962 to 1967. He was an Adjunct professor, Howard University School of Law from 1966 to 1967.

Judge of the United States District Court for the District of Columbia, Waddy was nominated by President Lyndon B. Johnson on January 16, 1967, to a seat vacated by Richmond B. Keech. He was confirmed by the United States Senate on March 2, 1967, and received his commission on March 4, 1967. Waddy served in that capacity until August 1, 1978, due to his death.
