Who is K. Sudhakaran?

K.Sudhakaran is an Indian politician and a member of the Indian National Congress political party. He is currently a Member of Parliament from the Kannur Lok Sabha Constituency.

Sudhakaran has played an important role in bringing up the congress party in the Kannur district. His leadership and support of his followers helped him win the ticket to the Central as an MP.

Bully Politics: There was high drama in Valapatanam police station on Wednesday Oct 31st 2012 when a group of politicians led by K Sudhakaran, MP barged into the station, gharoed the sub-inspector and threatened him with dire consequences if he did not release Youth Congress leader Kallikodan Ragesh. Ragesh was taken into custody for demanding the release of a lorry that had been confiscated for sand smuggling. The Home Minister had asked IG, Kannur range, to probe the issue and ascertain if there was any lapse on the SI’s part in handling the case, as alleged by Sudhakaran and his supporters. The report said the SI had followed due procedure under the Police Act in taking Youth Congress activists into custody. The inquiry also did not come across any evidence to substantiate Sudhakaran’s charge that locked up persons were roughed up at the police station. Sudhakaran was later booked on charges of threatening a police inspector and obstructing functioning of police officials during a protest demanding the release of the local Youth Congress functionary.
