Who is Kamaljeet Sandhu?

Kamaljeet Sandhu is a former woman Indian athlete who won gold medal at 1970 Asian Games in 400 m race.She ran the distance in 57.3 seconds. She was the first Indian woman to win gold medal at any Asian games. She hails from Punjab state in India. She received Padma Shri award in 1971. She was the first Indian women to reach the finals of an olympic athletics event. She participated in 1972 Olympics.
