Who is Kate Gibbs?
Katherine Laura Gibbs is an American-born fashion model, educator, and artist of British, German, and Austrian descent. Her maternal grandfather is Paul Fredricks, a brass jazz musician of the Big Bands Era of the 1940s . Kate turned down the opportunity to pursue a modeling career to pursue studies at Villanova University following the Elite Look of the Year contest. After graduating in four years from Villanova University's School of Business, she shot an advertising campaign for designer Adrienne Landau and spent years working in the fashion industry. She worked with Bryan Bantry, Elite Models, Vivienne Tam, Diane von Fürstenberg, Alice and Olivia, and others including a television piece for the City of New York; gaining experience across the industry in positions varying from model, stylist, and businesswoman. She notably left the fashion industry to accept a position in a government fellowship in education where she has spent the past three years assisting with development of a leadership academy magnet and language programs. She is a member of the William J. Clinton Foundation, artist, and jewelry designer.
