Who was Kiselgof?

Zusman Kiselgof, also called Zinoviy Aronovich Kiselgof, was a Russian-Jewish ethnologist. Together with Moshe Beregovsky, he in 1913-14 studied and recorded Jewish Klezmer musical folklore in Volhynia and Belarus within the Russian Empire.

First published in 1915 in Petrograd, the music was recently rediscovered, and is interpreted by the Klezmer Mountain Boys.
