Who was Kostaq Kota?
Kostaq Kota or commonly Koço Kotta was an Albanian politician and twice Prime Minister during the reign of King Zog, who took a pro-Italian right-wing stance.
During his first term, he introduced civil code laws based on the Napoleonic model. He was a member of Mustafa Merlika-Kruja's cabinet in 1941.
He was arrested in December 1944 and was sentenced to lifelong imprisonment by Albanian Communists. He died in Burrel prison, in 1947.
