Who is Lawrence M. McKenna?

Lawrence M. McKenna is a Senior District Judge in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. He was nominated to the bench by George H. W. Bush on January 24, 1990. Judge McKenna received his commission on April 30 of the same year, taking the seat of William C. Conner. Judge McKenna assumed senior status on May 24, 2002.

Judge McKenna received his A.B. from Fordham College in 1956 and his LL.B. from Columbia Law School in 1959. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association.

Prior to his appointment, Judge McKenna was in private practice in New York City. First he worked at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett from 1959–1969, and then at Wormser, Kiely, Alessandroni, Hyde & McCann from 1969-1990.
