Who is Liselotte Mettler?

Liselotte Mettler is an Austrian-German surgeon who specializes in endocrinology, reproductive medicine, gynecological endoscopy and gynecological oncology. Mettler is a professor emeritus for the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics at Kiel University, Germany. The author of more than 600 publications and several books, Mettler is noted for her research of endometriosis. Mettler is a member the editorial boards for the professional journals Reproduktionsmedizin, European Journal of Gynecological Endoscopy, and the American Journal of Gynaecological Endoscopy. She was under the first 3 German IVF centers with successful treatment in IVF and ET in the early 1980ies.

Mettler was born on June 6, 1939 in Vienna, Austria. She studied medicine in Vienna Tebingen, and Kiel Germany.

Mettler was also one of the first to perform laparoscopic and laparoscopic assisted hysterectomies in Europe. She is a member of The Society of Elite Laparoscopic Surgeons.
