Who was Loran Helm?
Reverend Loran Helm was an Indiana pastor known as the author of A Voice in the Wilderness. This book is an inspirational book about the story of his ministry. He was born in Parker City, Indiana February 3, 1916 and he died 2006. Revival For Our Day, a non-profit organization, was founded to support Rev. and Mrs. Helm in their endeavor to find and do the Will of God, and to share the unsearchable riches and unspeakable joys of the Kingdom of Heaven with those to whom he was led.
There are several churches affiliated with RFOD across the United States of America.
RFOD was founded in the mid to late 1960s by several men who felt that Rev. and Mrs. Helm needed a means of support while they did their best to find and do the will of God. Rev. Emory Reece was the president of the board of directors at the inception.
RFOD was the organization which attempted, successfully, to maintain funds for the Helms throughout their lives and provided an organization with which to schedule national meetings etc.
RFOD is still extant, primarily providing a monthly newsletter, which consist mainly of sermons or letters previously shared by Rev. Helm.
Rev. Helm received an honorary Doctorate of Divinity in the late '80's.
