Louis Alexandre de Bourbon, comte de Toulouse, duc de Penthièvre, a legitimated prince of the blood royal, was the son of Louis XIV and of his mistress Françoise-Athénaïs, marquise de Montespan. At the age of five, he became grand admiral of France.
