Who is Louis Cataldie?

Dr. Louis Cataldie was the Medical Incident Commander for the state of Louisiana, United States.

Dr. Cataldie was also involved in running both the Find Family National Call Center, AKA the Family Assistance Center, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana as well as the Disaster Mortuary Operational Response Team morgue in Carville, Louisiana.

Dr. Cataldie's memoir of his career as a coroner, Coroner's Journal: Stalking Death in Louisiana, was published in 2006.

Dr. Cataldie received his Doctor of Medicine degree from LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans in 1974. He was able to graduate Medical School early through the speed up graduation program and together with another pioneering graduate initiated the Family Practice Residency Program at the Long Memorial Hospital in Lake Charles, LA. He subsequently moved to an Emergency Medicine residency program at University Medical Center, in Lafayette, LA where he and a good friend became literally legends at that facility. Dr. Cataldie loved Harley Davidson motorcycles long before the current fad and was a firearms expert and avid collector. During the CB radio craze of the 70's he was known as the "Screamin' Yeller Zonker"!
