Who was Louis King?
Louis Eugene King.
Louis Eugene King, would have been the first black anthropologist to receive a doctorate from Columbia. He also did groundbreaking work in the field of anthropology. Unfortunately for him he studied at the wrong time, the Depression was the worst time for anthropologist regardless of color to find work. Due to the circumstances Louis Eugene King was pushed to the sidelines to become known as "The Anthropologist Who Never Was"
