Who was Luis Tristán?
Luis Tristán de Escamilla was a Spanish painter.
Tristán became assistant of El Greco between 1603 and 1607; Tristán's later works were influenced by his master. One of his most important paintings is an altar image in the church of Yepes.
Diego Velázquez proclaimed himself a follower of Tristán.
