Who is Maialen Chourraut?

Maialen Chourraut Yurramendi is a Spanish slalom canoer who has competed since the early 2000s. She won a bronze medal in the K-1 event at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. She also competed in the K-1 event at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, but was eliminated in the heats and finished in 16th place.

Chourraut won a silver medal in the K-1 event at the 2009 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships in La Seu d'Urgell. Two years later, she won a bronze medal in the K-1 event at the 2011 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships in Bratislava. She also won a silver medal in the K-1 team event at the 2014 European Championships in Vienna.
