Who is Malcolm Ranjith?
Albert Malcolm Ranjith Patabendige Don, often known simply as Malcolm Ranjith or Albert Malcolm Ranjith, is a Sri Lankan cardinal of the Catholic Church. He is the ninth and current Archbishop of Colombo, serving since 2009. He was elevated to the cardinalate in 2010.
Ranjith previously served as auxiliary bishop of Colombo, Bishop of Ratnapura, Adjunct Secretary of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, Apostolic Nuncio to Indonesia and East Timor, and Secretary of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments.
