Who was Maqbool Bhat?
Maqbool Bhat was a pro-independence leader and co-founder of the Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front. He was hanged on February 11, 1984 in Tihar Jail in New Delhi after his conviction on two murder charges. He was in jail for his role in a bank robbery and the murder of the bank manager in Kupwara.
