Who was George Alapatt?
Mar George Alapatt was the fourth Bishop of Syro-Malabar Catholic Archdiocese of Thrissur, from May 1, 1944 until June 4, 1970, when he retired. Alapatt was born at Karanchira in Thrissur district on February 11, 1900. He attended all the four sessions of the Second Vatican Council. He died in his sleep on November 6, 1973.
