Who is Marcelo Laffitte?

Marcelo Laffitte is the son of a family of metalworkers and he lives in Rio de Janeiro since 1995. His first short film (Vox Populi, 1996) was screened at several festivals in Brazil and around the world (Italy, Greece, Chile, France, USA, Cuba, etc.). He directed three other short films: Banquet (2002), Short Opera (2004) and Fury (2006), which won the Grand Prize of the Brazilian Academy of Cinema. With strong cultural activism in Brazil, Laffitte also was president of the Brazilian Association of Documentary (2003/2006). "Elvis and Madona" is his first feature film.
