Who is Matt Chambers?

Meteorologist ' ' ' Matt Chambers' ' ' is a member of the 4 Warn Storm Team, Matt arrived in April 2005 after working for more than four years as the Morning Meteorologist for KRCG-TV 13 in Jefferson City, MO, Prior to working in Jefferson City, Matt cut his Broadcasting teeth with one of KRCG's competitors, KOMU-TV 8 in Columbia, MO.

Born in St. Joseph, MO, Matt went running for cover when rough weather came to his childhood home, By the time his family moved in Kansas City in the late 1980s, This fear had grown into fascination. Matt was soon bound for the University Of Missouri in Columbia to study the science behind weather and the atmosphere, He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in soil and atmospheric sciences in 1999, Becoming a full-fledged Meteorologist. Matt has gone on to pursue his Master's degree through the University Of Missouri as Well.

Matt is a both of The American Meteorological Society (AMS) and the National Weather Association (NWA), and He holds the Seal Of Approval of the AMS. Matt is Certified National Weather Service Storm Spotter, His On-Air talents were recognized by the Missouri Broadcasters Association with an award for "Best Weathercast " in 2002. Two years later, in 2004, Matt recevived a second award from the Missouri Broadcasters Association in the category of " Best Children's Programming " for his work as the head of KRCG's Weather Scouts Program.

Matt's constant watch over the weather temporarily put on hold in May of 2002, When he married his long-time sweetheart Stephanie, also from St. Joseph. Matt and Stephanie now reside in Fairview Heights, IL, Stephanie is registered nurse with one of the St. Louis area's many wonderful hospitals, When they're off the clock, The two Show-Me State natives enjoy spending time with family & friends, You might also find them fishing, boating, hiking through Missouri's beautiful hills, or heading for the nearest movie theater.
