Who was Maurice Gibb?
Maurice Ernest Gibb, CBE was an English musician, singer and songwriter. He was born in the Isle of Man to English parents, the twin brother of Robin Gibb and younger brother to Barry, best known as a member of the singing and songwriting trio the Bee Gees, which was formed with his brothers. Their younger brother, Andy, was a popular solo singer. The trio had their start in England and then moved to Australia and found major success when they returned to England. Bee Gees became one of the most successful pop groups ever.
He joined his first group the Rattlesnakes formed in Manchester in England which features his brothers Barry and Robin and friends Paul Frost and Kenny Horrocks but was evolved to Wee Johnny Hayes and the Blue Cats and finally to the Bee Gees in 1958 when the Gibbs moved to Australia.
