Who is Mel Ryan?
Melville Ryan is an English first class cricketer, who played 150 first-class matches for Yorkshire County Cricket Club between 1954 and 1965. He also played for the Yorkshire Second XI, Minor Counties and the International Cavaliers.
A right arm fast medium bowler, Ryan took 413 wickets at 22.92, with a best of 7 for 45 against Warwickshire. Ryan took five wickets in an innings twelve times, and twice took ten wickets in a match. He scored 682 runs at 7.49, with a top score of 26 not out. Ryan also took fifty nine catches. He played three Gillette Cup matches, taking five wickets at 29.80, and scoring seven runs for once out.
