Who was Michael Corbin?

Michael Franklin Corbin was an investigative journalist, researcher, and radio talk show host who resided in Denver, Colorado. Corbin was the director of the ParaNet Information Service and operated the ParaNet BBS.

Corbin brought ParaNet to the Internet and branched out in organizing MICAP. MICAP published CONTINUUM, a quarterly magazine that among other subjects, explored alien abductions, UFO culture, the paranormal, mysticism, mind control, and conspiracy theory. MICAP was one of the first aerial phenomenon organizations to utilize J. Allen Hynek's close encounter system proposed in 1972 and Jacques Vallee's classification of UFO anomalies as reported in his book Confrontations. MICAP also hosted the 1992 debate between Don Ecker and UFO skeptic Philip J. Klass held in Denver.

Corbin hosted the nationally syndicated talk show The Paranet Continuum, which aired every Sunday night from 1994 to 1999, and intermittently to 2002. Paranet Continuum guests included Walter Bowart, Kevin Randle, Graham Hancock, Dr. Edgar Mitchell, L. Fletcher Prouty, Victor Marchetti, Alex Constantine, and abductees Betty Hill, Betty Andreasson Luca, Whitley Strieber, and Travis Walton. Father Malachi Martin became a frequent guest on the show starting in July, 1996. Corbin was also a vocal critic of Heaven's Gate coverage by fellow investigators.
