Who was Mordaunt Doll?

Mordaunt Henry Caspers Doll was an English cricketer.

Doll was educated at Cambridge University and Charterhouse where he excelled as a schoolboy cricketer. He scored 195 against Westminster in his last season. He and RLL Braddell put on a stand of 214 in the last hour.

He was a hard hitting right-handed batsman who represented MCC, Cambridge University, Demobilised Officers, Etceteras XI, Hertfordshire, Middlesex and PF Warner's XI.

Doll scored 102* in a county record eighth wicket stand of 182 in two hours with Joe Murrell for Middlesex versus Nottinghamshire at Lord's in 1913.

He also toured the West Indies in 1912/1913 with an MCC team led by Arthur Somerset.
