Who is Munira al-Qubaysi?

Munira al-Qubaysi, is the founder of Al-qubaysiat, a female only quasi-Sufi movement in Syria, the largest women-only Islamic movement in the world, which offers Islamic education exclusively to girls and women. Qubaysi directs about 80 schools in Damascus alone, which enroll 75 thousand students. She is one the most significant Islamic scholars in the world. Her movement focuses on learning the Quran and Hadith by heart. She is considered the 24th most influential Muslim in the world, and the most influential Muslim woman, according to the Royal Islamic Strategic Studies Centre in 2011.
