Who is Nick the Nightfly?
Nick The Nightfly, pseudonimo di Malcom MacDonald Charlton, è un disc jockey scozzese.
Nato da madre irlandese e padre scozzese, è la voce storica del programma "Monte Carlo Nights", uno show radiofonico lanciato da Radio Monte Carlo nei primi anni novanta per promuovere musica "alternativa" di stampo prettamente jazz, con influenze di vario tipo, dalla new age all'ambient, dalla world music alla lounge.
Nick, oltre ad essere il conduttore di Monte Carlo Nights", ha realizzato alcuni album da solista e recentemente ha fondato la Monte Carlo Nights Orchestra, una big band a tutti gli effetti con la quale ha inciso due album.
Il suo nome d'arte è ispirato all'album The Nightfly di Donald Fagen del 1982.
