Who was Nikolay Burdenko?

Nikolay Nilovich Burdenko was a Russian and Soviet surgeon, the founder of the Russian neurosurgery. He was Surgeon-General of the Red Army, an academician of the USSR Academy of Sciences, an academician and the first director of the Academy of Medical Sciences of the USSR, a Hero of Socialist Labor, Colonel General of medical services, Stalin Prize winner. He was a veteran of the Russo-Japanese, First World, Winter and the German-Soviet War.
