Who was P. O. Davis?
Posey Oliver “P.O” Davis, was an American educator and administrator, as well as a pioneering agricultural editor and broadcaster.
He perhaps is best remembered as the longest serving director of the Alabama Extension Service and for helping Alabama agriculture through a critical period of development.
Davis also emerged as a national leader of and advocate for farming and Cooperative Extension work in the 1940s and 1950s.
