Who was Pat Norton?
Patricia "Pat" Norton later Down was an Australian backstroke swimmer who competed in the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin, Germany.
In 1936 she was eliminated in the semi-finals of the Olympic 100 metre backstroke event.
At the 1938 Empire Games she won the gold medal in the 110 yards backstroke competition. She also won a silver medal with the Australian team in the 4×110 yards freestyle relay contest and a bronze medal in the 3×110 yards medley relay event.
