Who is Patricia E. Yarrington?

Patricia E. Yarrington is vice president and treasurer of Chevron Corp., a position she assumed in May 2007. A native of Orange, N.J., Yarrington earned a bachelor's degree in political science in 1977 from Pomona College in Claremont, Calif., and a master's degree in business administration from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, in Evanston, Ill. Yarrington joined Chevron Corp. in 1980 and went through the comptroller's department training program. In 1984, she became a senior financial analyst, and later held various financial and analytical positions in the corporation and Chevron U.S.A. Inc. In 1986, she was named manager of investor relations for the corporation. She went on to hold various supervisory positions of increasing responsibility in Chevron Products Co., Chevron U.S.A. Production Co., and Chevron Research and Technology Co. In 1995, she was named manager of credit card enterprises for Chevron Products Co.'s marketing department, overseeing the company's credit card operations. In June 1997, she was named comptroller for Chevron Products Co. In March 1998, she was appointed president of Chevron Canada Ltd., a petroleum products refining and marketing company, headquartered in Vancouver, B.C. In August 2000, Yarrington was named vice president of strategic planning for Chevron Corp., responsible for advising senior corporate executives in setting strategic direction for the company, allocating capital and other resources, determining operating unit performance measures and targets, and reviewing and undertaking significant mergers, acquisitions and divestitures. She maintained this position upon the merger with Texaco in October 2001. In November 2002, she was named vice president of policy, government and public affairs for Chevron Corp. In this capacity, she oversaw U.S. and international government relations, all aspects of communications, and the company's worldwide efforts in community outreach. Yarrington is on the board of directors of Chevron Phillips Chemical Co., a 50-50 joint venture with ConocoPhillips Petroleum, combining the two companies' worldwide chemicals businesses and one of the world's top producers of olefins, polyolefins, aromatics and styrenics. Yarrington currently serves on the San Francisco Federal Reserve's Economic Advisory Council. In this capacity, she provides information to the Fed on the state of the economy, as well as current and pending developments in the energy industry. Ms. Yarrington was born in April 1956.
