Who was Pekka Niemi?
Pekka Niemi was a Finnish cross-country skier who competed in the 1930s. He won a bronze medal in the 18 km event at the 1936 Winter Olympics in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
Niemi's biggest success as a cross-country skier was at the 1937 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships, where he won a complete set of medals. He also won the 50 km event at the Holmenkollen ski festival in 1938.
