Who is Pete Mackanin?

Peter Mackanin, Jr. is an American professional baseball coach, and a former Major League player, scout and manager. He played in Major League Baseball as a second baseman and served as the acting manager of the Cincinnati Reds, having replaced Jerry Narron in 2007 before being replaced at season's end by Dusty Baker.

He is the 2014 third base coach of the Philadelphia Phillies, returning to the staff after a year's hiatus. He spent 2013 as a scout for the New York Yankees, and was the Phillies' bench coach from 2009–2012.
