Who is Peter Hughes?
Peter Hughes is an English actor. In the 1950s, he was a stalwart of the Richmond Theatre repertory company with actress Anne Ridler. He played a recurring role as a bank manager in the BBC television series Bergerac and played General Franco in Alan Parker's film adaptation of Evita. Other notable roles include that of a policeman in the John Boorman film Hope and Glory, and as the P&O manager in David Lean's A Passage to India. He also appeared in An Englishman's Castle, a serial of alternative history in which the Nazis won World War II.
