Who is Peter Lines?

Peter Lines is an English professional snooker player from Leeds. He practices at the Northern Snooker Centre in Leeds.

He has twice reached the Quarter-Final of a ranking tournament, in the 1999 China International, and the 2009 UK Championship.

In 1992, he qualified for the Strachan Open by defeating Iwan Jones 5-2, Gary Peters 5-2, John Burns 5-4, Bert Demarco 5-1, Joe O'Boye 5-1, Craig Edwards 5-3 and Steve Newbury 5-1, before losing to John Parrott 5-2 in the last 32.

In the same year, he qualified for the 1992 Asian Open by defeating Ted Guerreri 5-1, Frank Maskell 5-1, David McLellan 5-2, Steve Longworth 5-4, Tony Wilson 5-3, Steve Duggan 5-1 and Steve Newbury 5-1, before losing to David Roe 5-2 in the last 32.

His next qualification came in the 1995 International Open, for which he beat Colin Kelly 5-2, Scott Bigham 5-2, Fergal O'Brien 5-4 and Doug Mountjoy 5-4, before losing to Ken Doherty 5-1 in the last 32.

1998 was a good year for Lines, qualifying for the Welsh Open with a 5-2 win over Karl Broughton followed by a 5-0 defeat of Rod Lawler, losing out 5-1 to Stephen Lee in the last 32.

He qualified for the Scottish Open in the following month with a dramatic 5-4 win over Willie Thorne, before beating Top-5 player Mark Williams 5-3. He lost 5-0 to Chris Scanlon in the last 32.
