Who is Peter Scamurra?
Peter Vincent Scamurra is a retired American ice hockey defenseman who played for the Washington Capitals for parts of four seasons in 1975–1980. He was drafted in 1975 by the Capitals and Cleveland Crusaders of the World Hockey Association after starring for the Peterborough Petes of the Ontario Hockey League.
While a member of the Petes, Scamurra played for Team Canada in the first unofficial ice hockey world junior championships tournament in 1974. Two years later was also invited to a tryout for the American team in the 1976 Canada Cup but did not make the final team.
