Who was Peter Walker, Baron Walker of Worcester?
Peter Edward Walker, Baron Walker of Worcester, MBE, PC was a British politician. A member of the Conservative Party, he served in the Cabinet as the Environment Secretary, Trade and Industry Secretary, Agriculture Minister, Energy Secretary and Welsh Secretary. He was a Member of Parliament representing the constituency of Worcester from 1961 to 1992. He was made a life peer in 1992.
Walker was a founder of the Tory Reform Group, and served as Chairman of the Carlton Club.
He died in 2010, shortly after his son, Robin Walker, had been elected the Conservative MP for Worcester.
