Who is Phoebe Philo?
Phoebe Philo OBE is a British fashion designer.
Born to British parents in Paris, Philo was educated in London. She studied at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London, graduating in 1996. She quickly joined Chloé as Stella McCartney's first assistant for Ready-to-wear in Paris. In 2001, she was appointed Creative Director at Chloé. In 2008, LVMH offered her a job as Creative Director and board member of the old French house Céline, where she can work from London. She agreed, and presented her debut collection the next year to much critical acclaim. Phoebe works in London where she lives with her husband and three children.
Philo was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire in the 2014 New Year Honours for services to fashion.
