Who is Pierre Lamond?

Pierre Lamond focuses on semiconductor, systems and software investments. Prior to joining Sequoia Capital in 1981, Pierre was a founder and technical director of National Semiconductor and the general manager of Fairchild's Integrated Circuit Division. He has also been the president of Advent, a consumer electronics company and Coherent, a manufacturer of lasers.Mr. Lamond is a past president of the Western Association of Venture Capitalists.

Mr. Lamond is a Partner at Sequoia Capital and focuses on components, software and systems investments. Mr. Lamond is a Director of Barcelona Design, Santur, Tera Systems, Open Silicon and Mellanox. He is also working with T-Networks. Mr. Lamond has been the Chairman of Vitesse Semiconductor (VTSS), Redback Networks (RBAK), Plumtree Software (PLUM), Verisity Design (VRST), Cypress Semiconductor (CY), Microchip (MCHP), Combichem (acquired by Dupont) and a Director of VitalSigns Software (acquired by International Network Services, LU), Convex Computer (acquired by HP) and the MarchFirst (MRCH) (formerly USWeb/CKS).
