Pieter Neeffs II
Deceased Person
1620 – 1675
Who was Pieter Neeffs II?
Pieter Neeffs II was a Flemish Baroque painter who specialized in architectural interiors of churches. Born and active in Antwerp, he was trained by his father, Pieter Neeffs I. Their works, in fact, are very similar and attributions of their individual hands can be difficult. His paintings included the Interior of a Gothic Church which is now a private collection and one is now at Vaduz, Liechtenstein. He also made paintings together with other artists including Frans Francken II and III, David Teniers the Younger, Jan Brueghel the Elder, Bonaventura Peeters the Younger, Sebastiaen Vranckx, Adriaen van Stalbemt and Gonzales Coques. His brother Ludovicus Neefs has also made similar paintings.
