Who is Polle Eduard?
Polle Eduard is een Nederlands zanger, muzikant, tekstschrijver en componist.
In 1965 gaat hij als zestienjarige spelen bij de band Tee Set van Peter Tetteroo. Vanwege een ruzie binnen de Tee Set richt Eduard met Hans van Eijck in 1967 de groep After Tea op. In 1968 heeft de groep onder het pseudoniem De Martino's een grote hit met Moest dat nou, een eerste bewijs, dat Eduard goed uit de voeten kan met het populaire Nederlandse repertoire. Als Van Eijck in 1969 heimwee krijgt en terugkeert naar de Tee Set neemt Eduard het leiderschap van After Tea op zich.
In 1971 formeert hij de Nederlandse rockband Drama. De band bestaat twee jaar.
In het jaar 1973 besluit Eduard om solo te gaan. Hij ontmoet Nico Haak. Onder het pseudoniem A. Lopikerwaard gaat hij nummers voor hem schrijven. Onder deze naam schrijft hij samen met Peter Koelewijn het nummer Honkie-tonkie Pianissie.
Polle Eduard neemt in 1976 bij platenmaatschappij Polydor zijn debuutalbum Net Op Tijd op. Op deze elpee staat de single De Bokser. De plaat wordt geen hit. Vanwege het uitblijven van het succes gaat hij in 1978 opnieuw samenwerken met Peter Koelewijn. Samen zijn ze verantwoordelijke voor Nico Haak's grote hit Is Je Moeder Niet Thuis.
