Who is Rashid Kay?

RASHID’S BIOGRAPHY

Rashid is a Hip-Hop musician from the East Rand, Johannesburg. He started rapping at an early age of 14. Rashid has worked with Skwatta Kamp, Hidden Force, Relo, Kruna, Slikour, Hoodlum, Shhluda, among other artists. He has also performed in Rand Easter Show (Johannesburg), Royal Show (Pietermaritzburg), Macufe (Bloemfontein), Woodstock (Johannesburg), sharing the stage with musicians such as Mafikizolo, HHP, Prokid, Skwatta Kamp, Zola, Kabelo, Morafe, to name but a few.

PROFILE

• Rashid took the 1st prize on Wick’s Rap Competition in Soweto hosted by Bob Mabena.

• He was voted MC of the month on Yfm’s Rap Activity Jam then hosted by Oskido and Rudeboy Paul.

• Rashid was the 1st rapper to win the Phat Joe’s Rap-a-lot Competition on Metro fm hosted by Phat Joe.

• He had a number 1 song on Metro fm’s Unsigned Top 10 for 6 consecutive weeks, then hosted by Zak and Penny Lebyane.
