Who is Renate Garisch-Culmberger?
Renate Garisch-Culmberger later Renate Boy is an East German athlete who competed mainly in the shot put event.
She competed for the United Team of Germany in the 1964 Summer Olympics held in Tokyo, Japan in the Shot where she won the Silver medal splitting the two previous gold medalists from the Soviet Union Tamara Press and Galina Zybina. At her first Olympic Games in 1960 she finished sixth.
She married in 1966 and competed at the 1968 Summer Olympics under the name Renate Boy. Representing East Germany she finished fifth in the shot put.
