René de Galard de Béarn, Marquis de Brassac was a French soldier and amateur composer of the Baroque era. He wrote two operas and a collection of cantatas. He was a cavalry officer and rose to become a lieutenant-general in the French army. In 1769, he was appointed maréchal du camp.
