Who is Ricardo Confessori?

Ricardo Confessori is a Brazilian drummer and member of the Brazilian power metal band Angra.

After leaving the Brazilian thrash metal band Korzus, Confessori was invited for assume the post of drummer of Angra, after the recording of the album Angels Cry, whose drums was recorded by Alex Holzwarth, Rhapsody of Fire's drummer.

In 2000, Confessori left Angra with singer Andre Matos and bassist Luis Mariutti. They created the band Shaman, with guitarist Hugo Mariutti, brother of Luis Mariutti. Shaman released three albums with this line-up: Ritual; RituAlive; and Reason, in 2005.

After the first two albums in Shaaman/Shaman, Ricardo Confessori and Andre Matos had creative problems. Even though Andre Matos was the leader of the band, Ricardo Confessori owned it. So instead of only one person leaving the band, everyone but Ricardo did.

In 2009, Confessori returned to Angra, replacing the drummer Aquiles Priester, former member of Angra between 2000 and 2008.

Ricardo Confessori endorses: RMV drums and drumheads, Drum Shop USA snares, Zildjian cymbals and Vic Firth drumsticks.
