Who is Richard Büttner?
Oskar Alexander Richard Büttner was a German botanist and mineralogist involved in the exploration of the Congo.
Büttner was a member of the German Congo Expedition, and visited the Congo between 1884 and 1886. In 1890 he wrote Resien im Kongolande about his travels. In 1890-1 he was in charge of a research station in Togo. Büttner was also interested in entomology.
