Who is Roman Vajs?

Roman Vajs is a Slovak slalom canoer who competed in the 1990s and 2000s. He finished 13th in the C-2 event at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta.

Vajs won two medals in the C-2 team event at the ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships with a silver in 1999 and a bronze in 1993.

He won the overall World Cup title in 1998. He also won 3 medals at the European Championships.

His partner until 2000 was Roman Štrba who was paralyzed in an accident in March 2001. In the years after the accident he teamed up with Pavol Hric who competed in K-1 until then.
