Who is Rose Setten?

Rose Setten was the 2004 winner of BBC Young Choirgirl of the Year. Setten's achievement was particularly noteworthy because at the time she was head chorister at a small provincial parish with limited resources, All Saints Church in Findon Valley, and was competing against professional choristers from York Minster and Winchester Cathedral, amongst others. She completed her schooling at Davison CE High School for Girls and BHASVIC. She started singing lessons at the age of 11, and has performed on Songs of Praise and BBC Radio 4's Sunday Half Hour.

Setten studied at the Royal Northern College of Music and obtained a first class honours degree in June 2010. She then attended the Royal Academy of Music under Elizabeth Richie as a Mezzo Soprano until June 2013 having been awarded a Distinction in her M.A. as well as the prestigious Dip RAM .

In September 2013 Setten commenced studies on the Artist Diploma course at The Benjamin Britten International Opera School at the Royal College of Music where she will be taking the lead role of L'Enfant in L'Enfant et les Sortileges in December 2013.She followed this by playing the part of Tauride in the RCM's March 2014 production of Arianna in Creta which was part of the London Handel Festival.
